Dropping Courses

Often students may have to attend a few classes before deciding if a course is right for them. If it is decided not to continue with the course, students should review the Course Withdrawal Schedule before officially withdrawing. Withdrawing from a course after the deadline will have financial and academic consequences.

Note: Non-attendance does not constitute an official withdrawal from a course. Courses must be dropped online through Self Service Banner.

The Course Withdrawal Schedule does not apply to:

  • Executive MBA & Master of Finance programs

Academic & Financial Consquences

  • Dropping a course may also affect a student's full-time status at the University. Students need to be registered in a minimum of 3 courses per term to be considered a full-time student.
  • Not being a full-time student can affect:

    • Student Loans
    • Scholarships
    • Third-party sponsorships
    • Study permits for international students.
