Your first 6 to 12 months are normally considered to be a probationary period. Refer to your offer letter, which would indicate the length of your probation period (if applicable). These months give you the opportunity to adjust to your new position and to give the University time to assess your performance.At the end of each monthly probationary/assessment period the supervisor/manager will meet with you to discuss your progress and/or required areas for improvement and will return the completed Probationary/Period of Assessment Form to Human Resources.

Visit the Homburg Centre, and sign up for a SMUfit fitness membership. Take advantage of the Employee and Family Assistant Program (EFAP), if eligible, for short term counseling and an advisory service that connects employees and their eligible family members to a network of dedicated professionals who are able to provide assistance 24 hours a day.
