The 2026 Student Leadership Conference will take place on March 7th, 2026. Come learn new skills, hear from inspiring speakers and have fun meeting new people. This one-day conference is open to all SMU students and includes opportunities to connect with peers, build your leadership skills and have some fun along the way.  The day will feature a leadership primer, discussions with current and emerging student leaders and an inspiring keynote speaker.

The SMU Student Leadership conference will bring together students from across campus to connect, learn, laugh and be inspired. 

All students are encouraged to attend, whether you are already involved in leadership activities or just getting started on your leadership journey. You don’t want to miss it!

Why Attend Student Leadership Conference 2026?

  • The conference gives students the opportunity to participate in fun and interactive sessions.
  • Conference participation is CCR eligible, and all participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end.  
  • Throughout the day we will also have a variety of prize giveaways.
  • Lunch is provided.

Keynote Address: Liz Duff, Host Late Night Scroll Podcast

Liz Duff (@ProducerLiz) is a Canadian pop-culture expert, comedian and host of LATE NIGHT SCROLLING (@latenightscrollingpod), the only Gen-Z, Canadian Pop Culture Podcast. A staple on red carpets and a favourite on Canadian press tours, Liz’s signature East Coast hospitality and wit resonates with pop culture fanatics around the world. Since 2022, when Liz appeared in TIME's Most Viral of 2022 for her coverage of the film Don’t Worry Darling, Liz has quickly become one of Canada’s leading pop culture voices as she seamlessly blends insight, humour, and cultural relevance. Her signature voice combines pop-culture savvy with strategic public-relations chops, positioning her as a go-to expert for brands and media looking to tap into what’s next in entertainment, influence, and audience behaviour. Her work and commentary have been featured on CTV, CBC, Yahoo.com, and she was the only Canadian voice included in Jimmy Kimmel’s first monologue after the late-night show’s temporary suspension in 2025. Liz produces her podcast from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
