Examine topics related to the exploitation of Earth for its mineral wealth, including:

  • Archaeology and history of mining as an essential human activity
  • Environmental impacts of mining, and sustainable practices in the industry
  • Conflict minerals and the geopolitics of the global mineral resource industry
  • Critical minerals essential for advanced technology, energy and food production
  • Humans as consumers in minerals supply chain

No prerequisites. No lab. 3 credit hours.
